DUI for Driver Who Mounted Curb on Arch Street in Early Morning Hours

Monday, June 29 at 2:46am, a red Jeep operated by Jesus Rivera-Arellano, 36, of 60 Myrtle Ave in Stamford was spotted attempting to negotiate a left turn onto Arch Street from Railroad Avenue. The vehicle took a wide turn and struck the western curb line on Arch Street.

Rivera-Arellano related that he did not have a valid driver’s license and officers on scene observed he had glassy, red eyes. The odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages was detected emanating from Rivera-Arellano’s person and breath.

Rivera-Arellano was asked to participate in standardized field sobriety tests, which he did not complete to standard. He was placed under arrest and charged with Operating Under the Influence, Failure To Drive Right, and Operating Without a License.

Rivera-Arellano was assigned a court appearance date of July 13 at Stamford Superior Court. He was released from Greenwich Police custody after posting a $250 cash bond.
