DUI for Driver Who Crashed on King Street

On Monday, May 27 Greenwich Police responded to 1275 King Street on a report of a single car crash.

The driver was not on scene, but was located a short time later.

Police say Azizul Hakim Tawsin, 23, of New York, NY was showing signs of alcohol impairment. He was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard and was placed under arrest.

The VIN of the vehicle came back as surrendered and expired from a 2018 Honda Accord in New York. The car was also listed as having no insurance on file.

Mr. Tawsin was charged with Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Improper Use of Marker/Registration, Operating without Minimum Insurance, Evading Responsibility, and DUI.

He was released after posting the 7% minimum ($21.00) of his $300 bond.
