Zachary R Smith, 28, of 52 Mill Valley Lane in Stamford was arrested on June 8 following an incident on Indian Field Rd and Putnam Ave.
Just after midnight, Mr. Smith was observed traveling north on North Street about 53 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. Mr. Smith continued at an unreasonable rate of speed onto Fairfield Ave and Standwich Rd.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of East Putnam Ave and Indian Field Rd. Upon investigation, the odor of alcoholic beverages was detected on Mr. Smith’s breath. He failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard.
Mr. Smith was arrested and charged with DUI and Traveling Unreasonably Fast. He was able to post his $250 bond and was released to the custody of a family member. He has a court date on June 22, 2016 in Stamford Superior Court.
