DUI Charge for Woman Who Hit Juvenile in Cos Cob Crosswalk

On Sunday a Greenwich woman surrendered to Greenwich Police for her involvement in a May 11, 2018 incident in which she struck a juvenile in a crosswalk and fled the scene. The incident took place in the area of Orchard Street in Cos Cob around 7:15pm.

According to Lt Nemecek, the victim sustained a lower body injury.

It was later discovered that the woman, Susan Corman, 49, of 29 Doubling Rd in Greenwich had been drinking while driving.

According to Nemecek, at the scene the driver, Ms. Corman, asked the victim if they were alright and the victim indicated they were okay. Ms. Corman then left the scene.

Witness on scene gave police information on the vehicle.  Then police went to the suspect’s house to talk to her.

Lt Nemecek said that in an incident like this, if there is any damage to property or an injury, the driver is required to stay and exchange information. “If the victim is a juvenile you should wait for the parents to arrive,” he said.

Corman was charged with Evading Responsibility/Physical Injury, DUI and Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.

Her bond was set at $25,000 which she was able to post. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 2, 2018.
