On Tuesday Greenwich Police were dispatched to the area of 141 Lake Ave on a report of a car crash with no injuries. Upon arrival, officers observed a car that had crashed into a utility pole with wires down.
The driver, Eliana Fernanda Zarate, 28, of Greenwich, was observed across the street from her empty car.
Police say Zarate admitted she had been driving and admitted to consuming alcohol during the night hours.
She did not perform field sobriety tests to standard, and was charged with DUI and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane.
She was released on $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 24, 2022.
