Driver with Learner’s Permit Charged with Hit and Run in Greenwich

On Nov 2 Greenwich Police responded to the area of Wellington Place in Byram on a report of an altercation between two drivers who were beeping their horns and yelling at each other.

Upon arrival, police say one of the drivers was trying to leave the scene. Police stopped the car and determined that the driver had struck and damaged parked vehicle.

Police say Nisreen Mubarek-Lopez, 21, of Stamford was the driver and had backed unsafely, hit the other car, and then tried to leave the scene without contacting police or the registered owner of the other vehicle.

It was also determined Ms Mubarek-Lopez didn’t have a driver’s license, but rather only an adult learner’s permit.

She was charged with Evading Responsibility/Property Damage, Unsafe Backing and Driving a Motor Vehicle without a License.

Her bond was set at $1,000 and he was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on November 16.
