Driver Who Hit Bicyclist on Sound Beach Ave Had Suspended License for Prior DUI

Greenwich Police arrested a driver who hit a bicyclist in the area of 90 Sound Beach Ave on July 14 around 1:00pm.

Victor Sanchez Maldonado, 61, of Norwalk was charged with Illegal Operation of Motor Vehicle Under Suspension/Alcohol, Failure to Yield to Bike at Intersection and Operating without a License.

Police said Mr. Sanchez-Maldonado was unlicensed and operating under suspension for a prior DUI arrest.

Further accident investigation revealed Mr. Sanchez-Moldonaldo failed to yield to the bicyclist who was within a controlled crosswalk.

He was able to post the required 10% of his $500 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 28, 2023.

Mr. Sanchez-Moldonado also had an active warrant from Stamford Police for Failure to appear in Court for a DUI in 2019. For that his bond was set at $10,000 for which he was able to post the required minimum 10%.
