Driver Killed in Crash on I-95 in Stamford Early Thursday Morning

On Thursday at 12:24am Connecticut State Troopers from Troop G responded to a one-car motor vehicle crash on I-95 Northbound in the area of Exit 8 in Stamford.

State Police say their preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, driven by a Worcester, MA man, Emmanuel Pierre, 26, was traveling on I-95 Northbound in the right lane of three when it left its lane of travel for an unknown reason and struck the metal beam guard rail in the right shoulder approximately a quarter of a mile north of Exit 8.

The car then crossed all three lanes of travel and struck the concrete barrier in the median and came to an uncontrolled final rest blocking the center and right lane.

The driver was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Riverside Towing. The roadway at the time of the accident was dry, the weather was clear.

The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene to assist with scene processing.

This case remains actively under investigation.
