Driver Charged with DUI after Crashing into Tree, Stone Wall on Lake Ave

A Brooklyn man turned himself in to Greenwich Police headquarters on Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for DUI.

Police say on the morning of June 11 they responded to a report of a car that crashed into a tree and stone wall in the area of 400 Lake Ave.

Police say that their investigation revealed that that Fernando Garcia Flores, 26, was the driver and that several open beer cans and bottles were located in the car.

Police say Flores, who was not able to perform field sobriety tests to standard, was transported to Greenwich Hospital where he was treated.

A search warrant revealed that Flores’s Blood Alcohol Content was above the legal limit.

He was charged with DUI, Failure to Drive Upon Right and Operating Motor Vehicle without License.

Flores was able to post the minimum 10% of his court set $10,000 bond and was released. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 27, 2022.
