Cos Cob Man Charged with Improper Storage of Gun

On June 3 Greenwich Police were detailed on a report of a stolen handgun from a vehicle which was parked at a private residence. Police say the vehicle was unlocked and the handgun was not secured in a locked container within the vehicle.

Police say unknown subjects entered the unlocked vehicle in the overnight hours and stole the handgun.

On June 24 the accused, Jason Wein, 31 of Cos Cob, was arrested by warrant by Greenwich Police and charged with Improper Storage of Pistol in Motor Vehicle.

He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 8, 2020.

The investigation of the stolen firearm remains active.
