Bridgeport Man Charged with Stealing Catalytic Converter, Brandishing Deadly Weapon in Greenwich

Greenwich Police charged a Bridgeport man for attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a car on Henry Street in Byram on May 25. Police arrested Ashan Jahiem Langston, 21, on an outstanding warrant.

Langston allegedly was attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle and when confronted by the owner of the car, brandished a firearm.

He was charged with Criminal Mischief 1, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief 1, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1 with Deadly Weapon, and Robbery 1 with Deadly Weapon.

Langton’s bond was set at $200,000, which he was unable to post due to a stipulation on the warrant stating that he needed to be arraigned prior to posting bond.

He was placed in a GPD cell block and awaits a court date in Stamford Superior Court on June 9,2023.
