On March 19 around 8:30pm Greenwich Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft in the area of Mill Street in Byram.
Police said Yonkaron Bullock, 52, of Norwalk was seen on surveillance video entering a an unattended and idling vehicle without authority or permission and fleeing with the vehicle northbound on South Water Street. A short time later, while officers were still on scene, police said Mr. Bullock returned with the vehicle and was subsequently stopped in the vicinity of 118 South Water Street.
When Bullock was taken into custody, officers immediately observed indicators consistent with possible impairment. Specifically, police said Bullock appeared to be in a confused state, exhibiting incoherent speech and having constricted pupils.
Mr. Bullock declined to undergo field sobriety tests, chemical tests or drug evaluation.
After being brought to police headquarters, a search incidental to his arrest, Bullock was found to be in possession of alleged narcotics found in small plastic baggies that contained a dark green leafy substance exhibited a strong chemical odor.
Mr. Bullock was charged with DUI, Larceny of Motor Vehicle 1st offense, and Criminal Attempt/Larceny of Motor Vehicle 1st offense.
He was unable to post the required 7% cash of his $50,000 bond ($3500) and was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 27, 2026.
