On Dec 16 Greenwich Police plainclothes officers in the central business district observed suspicious activity at a local retail store on East Elm Street.
Patrol officers and plainclothes officers detained a suspect, Harold DeJesus Bustos, 39, of Pawtucket, RI. Investigation revealed that Mr. Bustos conducted a fraudulent transaction in which he returned counterfeit merchandise in substitute for an authentic product in an attempt to defraud and falsely deprive the business of $3,613.
A subsequent search of Mr. Bustos’s vehicle revealed additional counterfeit merchandise.
He was charged with Larceny 3. After posting $1,000 bond he was released and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 2, 2023.
