On May 12 Greenwich Police arrested, Josen Crosby Perez, 25, of New York, NY, after he picked up a package dropped off by UPS at a residence in Old Greenwich where he did not reside.
Police say the residence was recently publicly listed for rent.
The package that the suspect picked up contained a Samsung phone illegally purchased at Best Buy for $406.19 using a 60 year old victim’s stolen credit card information and identity.
Also, a factory packaged iPhone valued at $1199 was found in the suspect’s vehicle.
Police say Perez admitted the iPhone was picked up the same date from another residence, though Perez would declined to disclose the location.
Further, Perez said that he was hired to pick up packages right after delivery and then hand them over to another person whose identity he also declined to disclose. “He was to receive $100 per package,” Police said.
