Arrest Made for Driver Parked and Asleep on North Water Street

On October 28 around 2:30am Greenwich Police responded to the area of North Water Street in Byram on a report of a car parked in the middle of North Water Street for an extended period of time with the operator seated in the driver seat and vomit in the road.

Investigation revealed that the driver, later identified as Marvin Luna, 37, of Greenwich, had fallen asleep behind the wheel in the middle of North Water Street, and was semi-responsive when first approached by police, had glassy eyes and could not follow simple requests.

While speaking with Mr. Luna officers detected the strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.

Luna submitted to a series of field sobriety tests, which he did not perform to standard.

He was arrested and charged with DUI (second offense) and Improper Parking Highway Regs.

He was able to post the required minimum 10% of his $200 bond and was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Nov 14, 2023.
