Arrest Made Following Landlord-Tenant Dispute

On March 16 multiple Greenwich Police units responded to a report of a landlord-tenant dispute on Oak Ridge Street.

When police arrived they made contact with Andrew Nielson, 37, of Greenwich, the landlord, who they say was yelling and causing a disturbance in the residence.

Upon speaking to him, the reporting party and a neighbor, it was determined that Nielson had grabbed several outdoor garbage cans and recycling bins and dumped them into the driveway, leaving many empty cans, broken beer and alcohol bottles in the driveway.

It was further determined that Nielson made unwanted entry into the reporting party’s apartment to demand rent money, and that when the reporting party called the police, Mr. Nielson took the cell phone away, interrupting the emergency call.

Mr. Nielson was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass 3, Breach of Peace 2, and Interfering with an Emergency Call.

He was able to post the required 10% minimum of his $1,000 bond and released.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 31, 2023.
