Arrest Made after Incident in Greenwich Ave Store

On Friday July 12 just before 5:00pm Greenwich Police were notified of a disorderly person in a downtown retail store. Officers learned that the person, later identified as Jose Augusto Monclus, 25, of Bronx, NY, had gotten upset with a store employee and threatened violence.

Then, according to police Monclus intentionally threw store merchandise on the floor, damaging it.

Officers located Monclus a short distance from the store and arrested him.

Greenwich Police no longer share the names of retail stores in their arrest reports after incidents occur.

Monclus was charged with Criminal Mischief 3, Disorderly Conduct and Threatening 2. He was unable to post his $2,000 bond at the time of his arrest. He has a date in Stamford Supeiror Court on July 26, 2019.
