Greenwich Police plain clothes officers recently observed behavior consistent with that of shoplifters on Greenwich Avenue.
On April 17 Police detained alleged co-conspirators Amiya Russell, 23, and Darrell Dusha Wright, 28, both of Brooklyn, NY.
On scene investigation revealed the Russell had utilized a shoplifting device to conceal several items and exit the retail store without paying for them.
Police said Ms Russell and Mr. Wright conspired with a 14-year-old juvenile in the commission of the act.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed more stolen items, with a total value of $1,641.
Ms Russell was charged with Risk of Injury to Child, Conspiracy to Commit/Risk of Injury to Child, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device (2 counts), Conspiracy to Commit/Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device.
Her bond was set at $15,000, and was released after posting bond. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 2, 2025.
Mr. Wright was charged with Risk of Injury to a Child, Conspiracy to Commit Risk of Injury to Child, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4 and Conspiracy to Commit/Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device.
His bond was set at $25,000, which he was able to post, and he is also due in court on May 2, 2025.
