After Neighbor’s Complaint of Yelling in Street, Arrest Warrant Catches up with Pemberwick Man

On Saturday morning, several Greenwich Police units responded to the area of 9 River Street in Pemberwick after receiving a report of a woman and man fighting in the street.

Upon arrival a man and woman were sitting calmly on a rail on the side of the street. The couple said they were outside smoking a cigarette when her neighbor came out telling them to keep it down because they were talking too loud. The couple denied having been in a physical or verbal altercation. There was no evidence that there was a physical altercation.

A National Crime Information Center query revealed that the man, Tony D Morgan, 32, of 9 River Street, Apt #2, had an extensive past criminal record in New York and an active warrant from Stamford Police for Failure to Appear 2nd degree.

Dispatch confirmed the warrant with Stamford Police who requested the warrant be executed in Greenwich. Mr.  Morgan was transported to Greenwich Police headquarters.  He was provided with unlimited use of the telephone and contacted a bail bonds company. He was able to obtain a Surety Bond of $1,000 and assigned a court date of Sept. 14, 2015 in Stamford Superior Court.
