Next for the Wrecking Ball in Downtown Greenwich: 1920s Lexington Ave Multi-Family

An application has been submitted to the Dept of Public Works Buildings division to demolish to demolish a multi-family home at 48 Lexington, in the R6 zone.

The 2,450 sqft house is a legally non-conforming three-family that dates back to 1920.

It recently sold from Lewis Venieri to 48 Lexington LLC (Registered to Stephen Young of Milank Ave per the Secretary of the State Website) on June 23, 2023 for $1,800,000 according to the Assessor’s office at Greenwich Town Hall.

The first date permit is eligible for issuance is in 45 days.

The start of the mandatory 45 day wait period for demolition was June 17, 2023.

End of the 45 day wait period is July 31, 2023.

The first date the permit for demolition is eligible for issuance is August 1, 2023.

Because the home was built before 1940, a written letter of objection submitted to the Building Division of DPW will trigger an additional 45 day stay of demolition.
