Greenwich Academy Poised to Purchase 54-Acre Property on Glenville Road

Greenwich Academy, an independent college-preparatory girls school in Greenwich, announced Thursday it has entered into an agreement to purchase a 54-acre parcel of land in central Greenwich owned by the Indian Spring Land Company.

The property on Glenville Road is located just minutes from GA’s main campus on North Maple Avenue and its acquisition positions the school to create more enriching educational opportunities and programs for its girls and families.

Consistent with its mission of educational excellence and development of character, Greenwich Academy hopes to use this purchase to advance its long-term initiatives. These include enhancing and expanding athletic facilities, leadership development programs, sustainability initiatives, and faculty housing. In the coming months, the GA community will engage in a strategic and collaborative visioning process for this property.

The Glenville Road property is protected by wooded areas containing wetlands, trails, a ravine, and various rock elevations. As it maps out the future of the new site, Greenwich Academy will seek to honor and uphold the integrity of its natural surroundings, as the school has done on its campuses on North Maple Avenue and Ridgeview Avenue.

“Innovation and opportunity are the hallmarks of a GA education,” said Head of School Molly King, “The addition of this Glenville Road property will be a gamechanger for our students and our school. We could not be more energized for the future of Greenwich Academy.”
