Paolo Pennella, of Greenwich, passed away April 15, 2022, at age 85.
He was born April 28, 1936 in Morra de Santctis, Avellino, Italy, to Giovanni and Gerarda Pennella. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Amato, Giuseppe, Pasquale, Antonio, Rosaria, Maria and Grazia.
Paolo is survived by the love of his life for 67 years, Mariarosa DiPaola-Pennella, his daughters, Gerarda (John), Maria (Sonny), grandchildren. Anna, John (Jenna) and Paul, and great grandchildren, Jackson and Noah, who referred to him as “Big Nonno”.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Paolo migrated to America in 1974 and settled in Greenwich.
Prior to moving to the US he lived in Morra De Sanctis and then Zurich, Switzerland where he worked as a crane operator. While in the US he held various jobs including construction, Arnold’s Bakery and lastly, became the owner and operator of Paolo Pennella Landscaping.
Paolo was an avid gardner. He loved making birdhouses and enjoyed hunting, walking in the woods, and truly enjoyed playing the accordion. He also loved to make and drink his wine, listen to Kenny Rogers, polka music, watching The Godfather movies and Yellowstone.
Paolo’s biggest love above all was that for his wife, family and friends.

Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:00 am at St. Roch’s Church followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
