Gino Lupinacci passed away on Sunday July 14th, at home and surrounded by family, after a fearless 5 year battle with Glioblastoma. He was 51 years old.
Gino was born on September 25, 1972 in Greenwich. He was the son of John and Maria Lupinacci, brother to Tony Lupinacci, and cousin, nephew, and uncle to many.
Gino graduated from Southern Connecticut University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Shortly after graduation he married the love of his life, Claudia. Their love story is truly memorable, and they could be described as nothing other than soulmates. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Nina (21) and Mia (18).
Gino worked for General Reinsurance Corporation for 24 years, where he was a dedicated employee and friend to all. When Gino wasn’t working he could undoubtedly be found spending time with family. He was passionate about his garden, especially his tomatoes and cucumbers, a love he inherited from his father. He enjoyed golfing, an activity he often did with his brother, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Gino was very resourceful, he enjoyed solving problems on his own, particularly when it came to home improvement projects. His passion for tinkering and hands-on work was evident in everything he did, always preferring to take on tasks himself.
He was a pillar of strength in every sense of the word, especially in regard to his battle with cancer. Gino battled through countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, two brain surgeries, a clinical trial, challenging both his mind and body. He took every hardship in stride, and was relentlessly positive even in the face of such difficult times.
Gino is survived by his wife Claudia (DiPaolo) Lupinacci, and their children Nina and Mia. His parents John and Maria Lupinacci, and his brother Tony Lupinacci. He was adored by all of his nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. He was caring, humble, and someone to rely on and will be greatly missed.
