Leagues of Women Voters Partner to Host Candidate Debate for CT’s 4th US  Congressional District

Lower Fairfield County Leagues of Women Voters are hosting a candidate debate for U.S. Representative for  Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District (CT-4).

The event, scheduled  for Monday, October 19, 2026, from 7:00-8:30pm at the Westport Library, will give voters an opportunity to learn more about the three candidates – Jim Himes (D), Michael Ted Goldstein (R), and Benjamin Wesley (I) –  and their positions on issues relevant to the district.

Kay Maxwell,  former Connecticut and National LWV President, will moderate.

“The LWV is committed to furthering civic engagement by an informed  electorate and candidate debates are a key element of voter education,” said Joan Hogan Gillman, Westport LWV President. “We are delighted to  partner with other Lower Fairfield County chapters to host this debate  and welcome residents from all towns within Connecticut’s 4th Congressional district to attend.”

The event is free to attend, but advanced registration is required.

Residents of Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District are encouraged to  submit questions to be considered either through the registration link  or via email at [email protected].  The deadline to submit  questions is Monday, October 12. 2026.

Lower Fairfield County has 12 Leagues of Women Voters chapters:  Bridgeport Area, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk,  Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Westport, Weston and Wilton.

Also, on Wednesday, October 14, LWV Greenwich will host debates at First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich featuring candidates for Connecticut State Senate District 36 and State Representative Districts 149, 150 and 151. Register here.
