Public Input Sought on Byram River Flooding

Residents will have a chance to speak out about an ongoing Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) study of the Byram River flooding.

The meeting will be held on July 24, 2018 at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Road, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The ACE study assesses the risks of and solutions to flooding along the Byram River in Greenwich, Port Chester, and other parts of Westchester, and is looking to replace the two bridges over Route 1 to a higher elevation to alleviate flooding.

The meeting will consist of an informal poster presentation and presentation.

There is a 45 day public comment period that concludes on August 20, 2018. The name of the study is “Byram River Flood Risk Management Study” and it was authorized by the US House of Representatives.
