Are you interested in getting more involved in your community? Consider running for a seat on the 230 member Greenwich Representative Town Meeting (the legislative body of Greenwich) this November.
You are invited to an information session to learn more about what the RTM is and how to run for a seat hosted by the RTM Moderator, Alexis Voulgaris, on Thursday, July 31 beginning at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
You will have an opportunity to learn about what the RTM is and does, get a better understanding of the time commitment involved, and receive instructions on how to complete and submit a petition in order to be listed on the ballot in November.
Some of the things the RTM is responsible for are approving all town expenditures over $5,000, taking up nominations for boards and commissions made by the selectmen, initiating and passing ordinances, acting as the final planning authority on municipal improvements, and adopting the annual budget.
Come to the information session to learn more!
