Recently, AG Tong has joined multiple states’ attorneys general to form coalitions to challenge many initiatives of the Trump administration.

Last week, he joined 20 state attorneys general in filing a “friend of the court,” or amicus brief, to support a lawsuit aiming to block the implementation of President Trump’s executive order banning transgender people from serving in the military.

Also last week, he spoke out against granting Elon Musk and members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to Americans’ private information, including access to the Social Security numbers, bank account information, and other private data of tens of millions of Americans.

This week, he joined a coalition of 19 attorneys general filing an amicus brief urging the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit to revisit an opinion striking down a Pennsylvania law prohibiting individuals under the age of 21 from carrying concealed weapons in public.
