Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP is pleased to announce that Greenwich resident Gerard (Rod) N. Saggese III has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Department.

As a trusted outside legal advisor and counselor, Saggese focuses on commercial, general civil and intellectual property litigation. He has represented clients from a broad range of industries before trial and appellate courts on the state and federal level, as well as before administrative bodies.

Saggese’s commercial and general civil litigation experience includes commercial disputes involving contractual, fraud and business tort issues; partnership and internal business disputes; construction disputes and mechanic’s liens; commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes; fiduciary litigation involving corporate officers, trustees and executors; real estate disputes and contested issues involving real property and title claims; and employment disputes.
His intellectual property litigation experience includes trademark infringement, unfair competition, copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, defamation and license agreement disputes. From his work with disputes in those areas, Saggese has experience drafting and negotiating employment-related agreements, as well as construction contracts for property owners, contractors and architects. He also provides antitrust counseling to various trade associations.

Saggese will be based in Carmody’s Stamford office and a member of the firm’s leading litigation practice.
He has been President of the Fairfield County Bar Association (2016-2017) and Greenwich Bar Association (2009-2010). Moreover, as a long-time resident of Greenwich, Rod has been an active member of the town as well as the Fairfield County community. This has included his current non-profit work as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Greenwich Emergency Medical Service, and Board member of the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association, for whom he recently served as President. Rod is also a Board member of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Greenwich Point Conservancy, and Silver Shield Association Education Fund.
