LETTER: Camillo Administration Launched Food Scrap Recycling

Submitted by

Dear Greenwich Neighbors,

I am writing this letter in support of Fred Camillo’s re-election for the office of First selectman. I am a resident of Cos Cob and have lived in various parts of Greenwich for the last 16 years. I sat on the RTM, serving district 9, and have volunteered for local elections several times. I’ve known Fred for most of my time here and I’m always impressed with his knowledge, energy, and good old fashioned common sense.

One of his most recent accomplishments is the private/public partnership that launched the Greenwich food scrap recycling program.

This program has saved money on the cost of hauling garbage, reduced the volume of waste in our landfills, and has reduced the release of dangerous gases into our environment.

Through this initiative our Town currently has food drop off locations in several areas and is growing. This program keeps food waste out of landfills, instead composting it into a nitrogen rich soil amendment. This amendment can be used by local farms and gardens to beautify and strengthen our great town.

Please join me in supporting Fred Camillo in his bid for Re-election to the Office of First Selectman.
