ICY FRANTZ: Grateful to Camillo and Rabin for their Leadership

Submitted by Icy Frantz, Riverside

On November 2nd I will be supporting Fred and Lauren. They are the right team and the best candidates to lead our town at this time, now.

And although they both accomplished much prior to becoming our First Selectman and Selectwoman two years ago, it is what they bring to their job every day that I would like to focus on.

Fred and Lauren grew up in Greenwich which gives them a historical understanding and appreciation for our town. That is not to say that a new resident does not have a love and appreciation for our community, but like a teacher who has been at a school for a very long time, Fred and Lauren have a deep institutional knowledge that helps them lead.

But they are also keenly aware that the world has changed and so has Greenwich – they are able to respect the past, because they know it and have one foot firmly planted in innovation, and new creative solutions.  We have seen this in their work with affordable housing, Greenwich Ave outside dining, Imagine Greenwich, Public Private partnerships, recycling and Green initiatives and Reimagining the Greenwich Waterfront.

And they are the hardest working people I know. Since being elected, they have faced many challenges, we all have, and Fred and Lauren worked tirelessly to keep our whole community safe and prosperous. Throughout COVID, they coordinated with all aspects of our town- the hospital, the schools, businesses, not for profits, town government, state government, assisted living and elderly homes- every week, every day.

And finally- they are both good people. Really good people. This may be the most important piece for me. They care deeply and it’s because they care so much about the people that live here – that Greenwich feels less like a town, and more like a community and a home.

I hope you will join me in supporting Fred Camillo for First Selectman and Lauren Rabin for Selectwoman on election day. I am so grateful for their leadership.

Sincerely,

Icy Frantz
