CURTIS: Greenwich Senior Citizens Have Tax Relief

In letters to the editor, both Dr. Goldstein (GOLDSTEIN: Don’t Drive out Greenwich Empty-Nesters with Proposals that Could Raise Taxes Sept 30, 2023) and Kristen Niemynski (Niemynski: Letter to BET…Keep Greenwich Affordable For Families  March 31, 2023) mention  taxes and a potential tax increase as a great burden on our fixed-income elderly.

They might have been wise to understand the Senior Tax Abatement program that exists in Greenwich.

It was one of the first resolutions I worked on after becoming a member of the RTM.

It was overwhelmingly approved at the December, 2001 Representative Town
Meeting, and has been renewed ever since.
