Reservations for Parks & Rec 2016 Season Picnic and Overnight Camping Permits Starts Jan 19

The Department of Parks and Recreation will soon begin accepting reservations for picnic and overnight camping permits for the 2016 Season.

Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis for Greenwich residents beginning at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 on the 2nd Floor of Town Hall in the Cone Conference Room. (Proof of residency required. Must be 21 years or older to make a reservation and be present for the duration of the event.)

Reservations for overnight island camping includes: Great Captain Islandand Island Beach. Reservations are limited to one night per family per season.

Reservations for Town picnic areas include: Bruce Park-Wood Road Picnic Area, Byram Park Clambake Area, Greenwich Point Clambake Area, Greenwich Point Cowbarn Area, and the Pinetum Picnic Area. Reservations are limited to one reservation per family per season.

If you’ve never booked a reservation before, be advised there is an unofficial, time-honored tradition in Greenwich that begins with an all-nighter in the Town Hall Parking lot.  Every January, Greenwich residents leave nothing to chance in order to ensure their picnic and overnight island camping reservations for the summer.

All fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation. We accept Cash (exact-change only please), Checks (made payable to: “Town of Greenwich”), and Visa, Mastercard & Discover credit cards. If you have an open balance with the Parks and Recreation office for any of our services or programs, you must settle this amount due before any Picnic and/or Overnight Island Camping permits will be issued.
