Register by Aug 30 for Greenwich Girl Scouts “Girls Go Outdoors” Camporee

Greenwich Girl Scouts is excited to kick off the school year with the Greenwich Girl Scouts “Girls Go Outdoors” Camporee to be held on Saturday, September 22 at Seton Scout Reservation in Greenwich.

Greenwich girls and their families will enjoy a day of outdoor fun, activities, songs, SWAPS, sisterhood, and, of course, S’Mores at  Camp Seton Scout Reservation.

Georgianna Lissauer, unit Camporee co-chair, said, “Organizing the Greenwich Girl Scout Camporee is hard work, but working with my fellow leaders and seeing more than 250 girls build leadership skills and enjoy the outdoors with their families is so rewarding. I wish all Greenwich girls can experience the power of Girl Scouting.”

A full schedule of activities is planned from 1:00-4:00pm and individual troop events in the evening for those camping overnight.

The Camporee will begin with a flag ceremony, followed by stations spread throughout the camp including edible fire building, letterboxing, crafts, outdoor cooking, fishing, a bouldering wall, archery and S’mores. True to any Girl Scout event, the day will conclude with a flag ceremony, singalong, SWAPS, and campfire.

For Girl Scout troops staying overnight, camp setup begins at 4:30 PM followed by individually planned dinners at each campsite. Later in the evening, the group will have an opportunity to enjoy stargazing before retiring for the night. In the morning, a hot pancake breakfast will be served in the Dining Hall before checkout.
