Paper Shredding Event Set for Sept 25, 2021

Save the Date for this years’ Paper Shredding Day. Volunteers will be at Island Beach parking lot on Saturday, Sept 25 between 9:30am and 12noon to shred sensitive documents and personal papers. Cost is $3/box (cash only/exact change) with a 5 box max per car.

Box size similar to a case of wine. Not to large and heavy so volunteers can lift and empty safely.

Greenwich residents only. Masks are required.

Canned & dried food donations will be accepted for Neighbor to Neighbor. Your donation of tuna, peanut butter, canned fruit & veges, cheerios is greatly appreciated.

This annual event is in its 10th year. Since 2012 volunteers from Greenwich Green & Clean and Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board have organized this event with the generous support of First Bank of Greenwich and Santaguida Sanitation. Shredding keeps personal information safe and all shreds are recycled which saves trees.

Climate change is on everyone’s mind this year. Every tree saved helps keep the earth a bit cooler since trees absorb carbon dioxide while tree roots help hold soil in place and can help control water runoff. Over the last 9 years we have helped save over 1,000 trees by recycling paper shreds used to make new products.
