Mary Bush Children of the American Revolution Place Flags at Revolutionary Soldier Graves at Christ Church Cemetery

Just in time for Veterans Day, the Mary Bush Children of the American Revolution (CAR) placed flags at Revolutionary soldier graves at Christ Church on Nov 3.

The students were guided by local veteran Tony Marzullo, and learned about local 6 Revolutionary soldiers buried in the cemetery.

The group is sponsoring Greenwich’s Wreaths Across America to take place on Saturday, Dec 14 at the Christ Church Cemetery at 12:00 noon sharp.

This is a national event that happens across America at the same time the Arlington service is going on to honor those veterans who have served and those who are serving in all the military branches.All residents are welcome to attend.

The local CAR society has 60 members in children ages ranging from 1 to 21 years with fun educational activities throughout the year. The Children of the American Revolution is a national organization of young people that promotes an interest in government, conservation,history and culture, and encourages an awareness and love of the U.S.

The group is currently in a membership drive. Assistance will be given to any prospective member who is not sure they qualify for membership.

Anyone with an ancestor who fought , served, or aided in the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership.
