First Congregational Church of Greenwich Announces 60th Annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale

The First Congregational Church of Greenwich (108 Sound Beach Avenue) invites the community to kick off the holiday season at its 60th Annual  Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale, Friday, November 27 through Sunday, November 29, from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day, right across from Binney Park. Unlike in past years, the sale will run one weekend only.

Since 1966, the sale has raised over $940,000 for local, national and international nonprofits and helped fund important projects at First Church.

Last year alone, it sent more than $60,000 to local charities, the largest gift in the sale’s history. Net proceeds from this year’s sale will benefit eight local nonprofits supporting children and families in need throughout Greenwich and Fairfield County: Greenwich Alliance for Education, Mothers for Others, Pacific House Young Adults Program, The Undies Project, Greenwich United Way, The YWCA Harmony Project, Call A Ride and New Covenant Center.

“The annual Christmas Tree Sale is a wonderful celebration of community, generosity, and the spirit of the holiday season,” said Rev. Patrick Collins, Senior Pastor of First Congregational Church of Greenwich. “For six decades, this tradition has brought people together for a meaningful purpose, with proceeds supporting local charities.
Every tree purchased helps make a difference, spreading hope, joy, and support to those who need it most. We are grateful to everyone who continues to make this                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   cherished tradition possible.”

Young shoppers pick out their tree at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich
Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale.

Volunteers will once again be joined by the Greenwich High School Freshman Football Team, which returns for its 11th year unloading the trees under Coach Frankie Wells.

This year’s 440 balsam and Fraser firs will transform the church lawn into a winter
wonderland of evergreens. Along with trees, the sale will feature 300 wreaths with
custom-made bows, plus pine and boxwood roping.

Now in its 60th year, the sale is one of Greenwich’s longest-running and most beloved holiday traditions — a community effort powered by volunteers, students, and neighbors who come together to spread cheer and raise vital funds for local causes. Shoppers are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection.

Cash and checks are preferred; all major credit cards and Apple Pay are also accepted.
