Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Thanksgiving Feast Marks 21 Years of Tradition

The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich held its 21st annual Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday, and since the Club is undergoing major renovations, the event was held in Christ Church’s parish hall.

The fare was provided by generous community leaders and served by neighborhood volunteers and Club board members. Nearly 200 boys and girls feasted on traditional Thanksgiving fare including turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, pies and more.

The annual is a chance for Club members to enjoy a delicious and nutritious meal with their friends and Club staff as “family” — in line with the Club’s commitment to offer kids a safe and nurturing environment and a sense of belonging.

Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Board of Directors, Alumni, and Greenwich First Responders love participating in this event to serve Club members. Some servers, such as Club alumni Police Chief Jim Heavey, Parks & Rec director Joe Siciliano and First Selectman Fred Camillo, have made it a tradition to serve the children as they were served as members.

“This is one of our favorite events at the Clubhouse,” said Don Palmer, Vice President of Programs and Youth Development. “It is great to know that so many members will go home with full stomachs after a great meal served by our community leaders.”
