Over 200 women and girls from across the greater Greenwich community came together last week for the annual Mega Challah Bake, hosted by Chabad of Greenwich — an evening that blended tradition, connection, and Jewish pride in a way only this event can.
The night began with a beautiful sushi buffet and signature cocktails, setting the tone for a warm, celebratory gathering. Long tables were meticulously prepared with ingredients, recipes, aprons, and baking tools, transforming the room into a vibrant space for community and creativity.
Once the challah dough was mixed and set to rise, participants were treated to a moving personal story shared by guest speaker, social media influencer “Now Jewish Nanny,” whose journey added depth and inspiration to the evening. Her message was one of resilience, faith, and the power of Jewish women.

But the true highlight was the energy of multi-generational unity: grandmothers, mothers, daughters, and teens sitting side by side, laughing, braiding, and sharing an experience that transcends age. The togetherness in the room reflected the heart of Chabad’s mission — bringing Jews together through tradition, joy, and deep connection.
As the aroma of fresh challah filled the space, the evening became more than just a baking event; it became a celebration of community, belonging, and Jewish pride. Participants left with beautifully braided loaves, new friendships, and the warm feeling that comes from being part of something meaningful.
Rabbi Yossi and Maryashie Deren expressed gratitude to the volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who helped make this year’s Mega Challah Bake the most successful yet.
