PHOTOS: St. Catherine’s Players 44th Annual Production, The Wizard of Oz, Opens Friday

Somewhere over the rainbow, the St. Catherine’s Players’ presents their production of The Wizard of Oz.

Tickets are available to purchase exclusively online to see The Wizard of Oz, the St. Catherine’s Players 44th annual production.

Performances are on February 28, March 1 and 2 and March 7, 8 and 9 with curtain times on Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 7:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm at the Lucey Parish Hall at St. Catherine of Siena, 4 Riverside Avenue in Riverside.

Tickets are $21 in advance and $25 the day of the performance. Special, front and second row reserved seats are also available for purchase.

Please note, the online box office closes three hours before each performance and performances will sell out.

Lauren Nicole Sherwood directs and provides musical staging, Zachary Kampler provides music direction and conducts the orchestra, Matthew Blank choreographs, and Denise and Tom Casazzone are the Co-Producers.

The title role of Dorothy is played by Greenwich’s own, Katie Suss.

The show also stars Chris Faccenda as the Scarecrow, Joseph DeMatteo as the Tin Man, Tyler Panek as the Cowardly Lion, Samantha Frattalone as the Wicked Witch and Doug Pulick as the Wizard of Oz.

The story tells of young Dorothy Gale who is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There, she encounters a host of whimsical characters: good witches, bad witches, animals that talk, scarecrows that walk, and things magical to behold.

To find her way home, she must journey along the Yellow Brick Road to see the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. Along the way, she makes new friends, but must also brave many dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers.

To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: There’s no place like home.
