North Greenwich Church Presents An Afternoon Of Jazz on Nov 26

North Greenwich Church presents An Afternoon Of Jazz, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at North Greenwich Church, 606 Riversville Road in Greenwich featuring Dmitry Baevsky (saxophone), Alex Nakhimovsky (piano) Jonathan Barber (drums) , and Matt Dwonszyk (bass).

Matt Dwonszyk (bass).

“This is a very special group of musicians,” said Alex Nakhimovsky, who also organized the event. “Dmitry, Matt, and Jonathan are all at the top level of jazz,  among the very best.”

“We are very excited to be offering this concert, like all of our concerts, free of charge to all,” said Carolyn Tyson, Co-Chair Of Council at North Greenwich Church.

“We are blessed to be a congregation with special musical gifts, and have been fortunate to attract musicians of exceptional quality. We know how music can comfort and inspire people, and have made our concerts – classical, folk, world (Afghanistan and Ukraine), and jazz – a key focus of our offerings.”

“North Greenwich Church is committed to making a difference for our neighbors,” said the Reverend Karen Halac. “We enjoy the gifts of an intimate sanctuary with exceptional acoustics, as well as facilities and grounds that we readily share with mission and ministry partners. When the pandemic began, we immediately launched a concert series (outdoors) as a blessing for our neighbors. We have provided space in our buildings for Neighbor to Neighbor, for diverse efforts to resettle and assist evacuees from Afghanistan, for Kids In Crisis as they prepare this year’s holiday gifts, and of course many appreciate the uplifting and encouraging quotes changed weekly on our Riversville Road sign. We are delighted to welcome all to this exciting jazz event.”
