Abilis Gardens & Gifts is celebrating America’s 250th in true red, white and blue fashion with a special collection of patriotic, handmade items created by Abilis community members. From American flag scarves to star-spangled wine bags, and red, white and blue candles, to even dog treats complete with an American flag bandana, the collection offers a festive way for the community to show its patriotic spirit while supporting Abilis.
The America’s 250th items will be available for purchase at the Abilis Gardens & Gifts pop-up shop at Greenwich Town Hall on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and in July at the Greenwich and Darien Sidewalk Sales.

The America’s 250th items also will be available at the town-wide “Sunday in the Park with George” event on June 28, that celebrates America’s 250th in Greenwich with a visit by the tall ship Oosterschelde, reenactors, George and Martha Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Benedict Arnold, a fife and drum corp, music, games and so much more, at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Connecticut, on Sunday, June 28, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
“Abilis is proud to contribute and help celebrate America’s 250th by having our community members create beautiful, handmade items that celebrate this historic milestone,” said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis.

“These red, white and blue-themed items are a wonderful way to wave the flag for creativity, community pride and inclusion. Each purchase supports the talents and work of Abilis community members, helps showcase their creativity and contributions to the community, and supports our ever-important Abilis Competitive Employment program, with our training site at Abilis Gardens & Gifts. Each item also brings a touch of Americana to the home, table or celebration and offers a meaningful way to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.”
Abilis Gardens & Gifts provides meaningful opportunities for adults with disabilities to develop job skills, express their creativity and participate in the community through floral offerings and handmade gift production. The America’s 250th collection reflects both the patriotic spirit of the celebration and Abilis’ mission to support individuals with disabilities in living full and meaningful lives.
The Abilis Gardens & Gifts pop-up shop at Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Road, Greenwich, Connecticut, is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
