29th Annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular Set for Sunday with 15 Giant Helium Balloons

The 2022 Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular, one of the largest parades of its kind in the country with 15 giant helium balloons and more than 100,000 spectators annually, will take place on Sunday.

The 29th annual event is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon at the intersection of Summer and Hoyt Streets, will proceed down Summer to Broad to Atlantic and will conclude on Atlantic Street south of Federal Street.

In addition to the 15 giant balloons, 38 fabulous units including marching bands, dance groups and floats will proceed down the nearly 1-mile parade route. Acts including the Acrobats of Cirque-Tacular Entertainment will entertain parade goers with their agile feats. Colin Cosell, PA Announcer for the NY Mets will act as Master of Ceremonies for the first time.

On the eve of the parade, Point72 will host a Giant Balloon Inflation Party from 3:00-6:00pm at the intersection of Hoyt Street and Summer Street.

This allows spectators a behind-the-scenes look at the balloons as they take to the sky.

The party will offer music, clowns, cartoon characters and a meet and greet with Santa. Spectators will also be treated to a special sneak peek performance by the Acrobats of Cirque-Tacular Entertainment and dancing with Locust Performing Arts Center of Stamford.
