In her Friday note to parents, Greenwich Schools superintendent Dr. Toni Jones noted that many families had come to know D’Amico in his many roles across the district, including his years as the principal at Glenville School when the new school was built, and assistant principal at Julian Curtiss School.
D’Amico joined the Greenwich Public Schools in January of 2003 as the assistant principal of Julian Curtiss School where he co-led the efforts on developing the world language magnet theme.
In the fall of 2005, he assumed the principalship of Glenville School and remained there until 2020.
In July of 2020, D’Amico was appointed Director of Curriculum and Leadership K-8 for the district.
“We are grateful for his 32 years as an educator and we are excited for him as he will have more time to spend with his family and all that life brings after a full and wonderful career,” Jones said in her email to families.
There was no word on a search for a new Chief Officer of K-12 Curriculum and Leadership.
