On June 30, Greenwich Police were dispatched to a residence in Byram on a report of a 17-year-old female who was sexually assaulted by a male known to the victim.
Detectives met with the victim at Greenwich Hospital who advised that the landlord’s handyman, known only to her as “Luis,” (later determined to be the arrestee, Luis Alberto Lopez, 59, of Woodbury, CT), had entered her apartment, made lewd sexual comments toward her and grabbed her vaginal area with his hand. Police said the victim struck the arrestee in the face with her cell phone and he fled the scene.
A subsequent investigation and interview of the suspect by Greenwich Police special victims section resulted in the same day arrest of Mr. Lopez.
He was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and 53a-73a(a)(2) Sexual Assault 4th degree without Consent.
His bond was st at $75,000 and he was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 14, 2026.
