Neighbor to Neighbor, the local food pantry committed to fighting food insecurity in Greenwich, is proud to announce an exciting fundraising luncheon on Tuesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:30am at the Greenwich Country Club, featuring the Winning Bakers from The Great British Baking Show on Netflix.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jasmine and Tom to Greenwich,” said Brent Hill, the Executive Director of Neighbor to Neighbor. “Their stories of creativity, resilience, and connection through food beautifully reflect our mission: bringing people together with care, hope, and generosity.” Tom visited Neighbor to Neighbor in November 2025, met with the team, toured the facility, and is eager to help with this fundraising effort.
Neighbor to Neighbor’s mission is to strengthen the Greenwich community by providing access to nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials at no cost every week to income-eligible residents, in an atmosphere of kindness and respect.

Jasmine Mitchell — Winner, The Great British Bake Off Series 16
Ms. Mitchell was crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2025, earning a record-tying five “Star Baker” wins, multiple “Hollywood Handshakes,” and the iconic Bake Off trophy-/cake stand, ending with a show-stopping four-foot long cake.
“Jaz,” a 23-year-old medical student from Edinburgh, Scotland, captured hearts and headlines with her incredible journey in The Great British Bake Off tent. Balancing rigorous medical classes with a passion for baking, Jasmine impressed judges and audiences alike with her talent, infectious smile, and friendly spirit. Openly sharing her experience living with alopecia since age 12, Jasmine used her platform to inspire confidence and authenticity. Her victory — marked by talent, warmth, and joyful curiosity — has inspired fans around the world. She is currently finishing her medical degree.
Tom Arden — Finalist, The Great British Bake Off Series 16
Tom finished second to Jasmine Mitchell, won a Star Baker title, and received two Hollywood handshakes and a Technical Challenge Win making a tower of French delights.
Entrepreneur, creative thinker, and dedicated food lover, Tom Arden became a fan favorite. Admired for his courageous creativity and brave vulnerability, his talent took him from the least experienced baker to Finalist. For Tom, food is an expression of his love of people and connection.
Tom is a founder of a successful creative agency in London. He led the team to build one of the fastest-scaling fashion brands in history, before deciding it was time for a new challenge. He is also a published scientist and when not baking or in the boardroom, he is in the early stages of making a documentary film about the natural world.
Neighbor to Neighbor is a nonprofit food pantry in Greenwich, dedicated to feeding and supporting community members facing food insecurity. Through weekly distributions, partnerships, and compassionate outreach, Neighbor to Neighbor ensures that good food and human dignity are available to all.
