Local Greenwich Man Charged with Engaging Police in Pursuit, Reckless Driving

On Nov 6 a local man surrendered to Greenwich Police on an outstanding warrant.

Back on Oct 25 around 2:48am, police observed a 2022 BMW M340xi with Connecticut plates traveling eastbound on Delavan Ave in Byram. The vehicle was then spotted stopping in the middle of the roadway before revving the engine and launching forward at a high rate of speed.

Marked units attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop but the vehicle continued eastbound at a high rate of speed, nearly crashing as it entered the on-ramp of I-95 northbound at exit 2. The vehicle continued northbound onto I-95 at speeds well in excess of 85 MPH disregarding the emergency lights and sirens of Greenwich Police.

Police determined the accused, Lance Frank Lippmann, 24, of Greenwich was the registered owner of the vehicle and resided locally.

An arrest warrant was secured and Lippmann surrendered to police on Nov 6 and was charged with Reckless Driving, Engaging Police in Pursuit and Unsafe Movement of Stopped Vehicle.

His court set bond was $7,500 and he was released from custody after posting the required minimum 7% cash ($525).

Lippmann has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Nov 20, 2025.
