Breach of Peace Charge for Man Throwing Cardboard in Riverside Parking Lot

Greenwich Police were dispatched to 1333 East Putnam Avenue on Sept 34 around 5pm on a report of a person throwing items in the parking lot, and had apparently scratched someone, causing minor injury.

Upon arrival police met Ricardo Rodriguez who was identified through past incidents. Police said Rodriguez was a known emotionally disturbed person without a home who frequents  the Town of Greenwich.

Police said Mr. Rodriguez had no explanation regarding the reported incident.

Investigation revealed that Rodriguez was throwing cardboard items within the private parking lot towards the building, causing annoyance and alarm to customers and members of a nearby gym.

Further, police said one person attempted to give Rodriguez money and pray with him, at which point Rodriguez became agitated and scratched the victim on the forearm with his fingernails. The victim sustained minor injury as a result.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with Breach of Peace 2 and released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 17, 2025.
