Stamford Police Dept’s Major Crimes Unit secured an arrest warrant for a suspect involved in a disturbance on Aug 9 at the Islamic Center at 1558 Washington Blvd.
On Tuesday afternoon, Michael Slocum, age 36, of Stamford voluntarily surrendered. He was arrested and processed.
Through review by the State’s Attorney’s Office, Slocum was charged with a single count of Breach of Peace 2nd degree. He was further released on a promise to appear, as ordered by the court, with a court date of August 26, 2025.

Originally Stamford Police responded on Aug 10 to a report of a disturbance in front of the Islamic Center that had occurred the previous evening.
The incident stemmed from alleged derogatory statements made by a male motorist who stopped in front of the center and verbally engaged with several congregants.
Police conducted the investigation through their Bureau of Investigation in consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office.
