On June 26 Greenwich Police plain clothes officers res were notified by a local retail store on Greenwich Ave that a larceny had just taken place and provided a description of two suspect involved.
Officers successfully detained one of the suspects, later identified as Gentian Gjana, 33, of Yonkers, NY. On scene investigation revealed that Mr. Gjana conspired with another individual who shoplifted merchandise worth over $500.

A search incident to arrest revealed that Mr. Gjana was in possession of a shoplifting device. A search of his vehicle revealed riot control pepper spray, a knife, two face coverings, a counterfeit Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) badge, novelty ID badge, bulletproof vest carrier and 10 loose bullets.
Mr. Gjana was charged with Illegal Possession/Weapon in Motor Vehicle (2 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5, Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device, Forgery 1 (3 counts), Criminal Possession of Firearm/Weapon (10 counts). His bond was set at $250,000, which he was unable to post.
He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 10, 2025.
