New York Woman Charged in 2017 Byram Hit and Run

A New York City woman was arrested by Greenwich Police on Friday for an incident stemming back to May 2017.

Police say that on Friday they responded to Stamford Police Dept for a prisoner pick up after being notified that they had taken a woman into custody for a incident in that jurisdiction and learned she had an active arrest warrant from Greenwich Police.

The warrant for the woman, Guadalupe Arellano, 42, stemmed from a motor vehicle crash in the area of New Street and North Water Street in Byram back on May 10, 2017. Police said Ms Arellano had been driving without a driver’s license when she struck a parked car and left the scene before police arrived.

She was charged with Evading, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License and failure to Drive in Proper Lane.

She was unable to post her 10% of her $10,000 bond and remained in police custody. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 14, 2024.
